New physical therapy online community launches
Physical therapists and PT staffing companies have a hard time finding an online resource for connecting with others in the industry. While other websites can be useful for someone in sales or accounting to connect with others, there may not as many physical therapists using these networking tools - until now.
This is one of the reasons why Therapydia recently raised $5 million in venture funding to launch a website for the physical therapist online community, according to the North Bay Business Journal. The virtual community launched on July 26, and the company hopes to provide social media tools to physical therapists so they may "extend to other areas of the wellness market."
"I look forward to the efficiency that Therapydia can bring the PT community through social media applications, business information sharing, professional networking, and much more," explained Steve Thompson, owner and PT at Sport and Spine Therapy, according to the news outlet.
The social media site will not only allow physical therapists to communicate with one another and others in the healthcare community, it is also meant to improve the quality of care for patients. The website states that it hopes to provide patients with access to PTs and wellness content. The community will eventually allow clients to engage with PTs during the course of their treatment so they can enjoy a more meaningful patient outcome.
Therapydia is currently the largest online community dedicated to physical therapy, with more than 135,000 PT profiles and content from over 300 websites. This is the perfect place for PTs to collaborate, communicate and improve practice efficiency. All physical therapists and PT staffing agents should consider joining this social media network today.
