Illinois-based physical therapy clinic a hit with patients, employees
Premiere Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation, an Illinois-based provider of rehab and therapy work, will open a new location in Chatham on February 20, according to The State Journal-Register.
The company, a provider of physical therapy jobs, was started in 1997 by Tony Rubba, an athletic trainer who is now the owner and CEO of the practice, and John Woodard, a physical therapist. Premiere currently has locations in Springfield and Virden.
In addition to providing the latest in therapy and rehab services to its patients, Premiere is also known for treating its employees well. The company offers the weekly "Extra Mile" award for its employees, who are nominated by their peers and patients for workplace actions that go above and beyond. The most recent award winner received an all expenses paid trip for two to Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, the newspaper states.
“That’s how much I want people to go the extra mile," Rubba told the source. "That’s what service means to me. We talk about we’re in the health-care industry, but we’re in the people-service industry. We need to deliver, and we need to be consistent.
With demand growing, physical therapists are looking for the perfect fit in terms of rehab clinics that treat them well, and Premiere has proved to be one of the very best at this. Recent data analysis from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has physical therapists, as well as other related professions, among the top in terms of demand. In fact, physical therapy assistants are among the fastest growing occupations, with mean annual wages reaching $49,810.
