The healthcare industry has been growing tremendously over the last few years as there is a growing need for professionals in a variety of sectors. However, some candidates may be deterred from pursuing a medical career because they're concerned that they may have to subject themselves to years of schooling.

One way to get into a fast-growing medical career is pursuing a physical therapy assistant job. According to U.S. News & World Report, the profession is expected to increase significantly over the coming years, and those who are looking to immerse themselves in the profession will not have to worry about spending countless years at school.

Many states mandate that individuals should have at least an associate's degree in the field in order to practice. This can take as little as two years, depending on the amount of experience the person gets within the profession.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, opportunities for individuals looking to get a physical therapy assistant job will increase by 33 percent through 2018.
