Looking for traveling physical therapist jobs
12/3/2009
Traveling as a new graduate can offer great career development opportunities for physical therapists, but sometimes it''s unclear where one should begin the job hunting process.
Every newly licensed professional who is looking for their first job needs a well-built resume, so developing this document is where many individuals begin their search for employment. A resume is basically a summary of a person''s skill set and relevant experiences. But to give this information context, some candidates headline their resume with a basic career objective that relates to the position for which a person is applying. Such a statement might include the sort of rehabilitation setting the candidate would like to work in and whether or not they are looking for a permanent position.
Most industries tend to evolve fairly regularly, meaning recent graduates may have received education in subjects their potential employers did not. For this reason, it can also be useful to discuss any new areas in which a candidate might specialize, such as modern assistive technology.
Once a resume is complete, the next step is to get it in the hands of the right industry members. Healthcare is a big sector, so connecting with employers isn''t always easy. Some graduates who aspire to be traveling physical therapists might find it beneficial to attend events such as the American Physical Therapy Association''s annual conference, which takes place in a different city every year and will occur in Boston this June.
