Plan Ahead for Rehab Therapy Jobs in the VA
Traditionally, the remaining three months of the year can prove to be a transitional period of time for travel therapists. Areas of the country that are popular travel destinations throughout the year decrease in popularity and are replaced with destinations that contain friends and family. The holiday season is not approaching any longer, it is upon us!
One of the primary challenges for a Reflectx Recruitment Manager this time of year is to try to assist travelers in planning ahead, “What do you think you want to do AFTER the holidays?” In many cases, the standard response is either “I’m not sure” or “I don’t want to worry about that right now.”
Reflectx Staffing has a distinct advantage to offer our travelers that are not sure what to do next. Our ability to provide our travelers with Veteran Hospital opportunities is unique, as most travel staffing companies do not have the in-depth relationships we have at the VA. Traditionally, VA Hospital opportunities have a longer “shelf life” than our traditional clientele. The interview and hiring process can take 1-2 months if credentialing (VetPro) is required by the VA in the respective city we are looking at.
It is worth mentioning that the Government just closed their fiscal year at the end of September, which means that new budgets are in place or will be finalized soon. Department heads are actively assessing their individual needs and requesting staff accordingly. There are several government contracts we are currently working on that are requesting travelers 3-4 months from now. For the traveler who is not ready to make that immediate commitment – it could prove to be a nice segue from quality holiday time into a challenging travel position with the VA system.
If you are a traveler or curious potential traveler reading this blog – we have one contract specifically that we are trying to line up PT, OT, OTA and PTA for a travel contract on the East Coast. If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity please contact me (Suzi) at sdesmond@reflectxstaffing.com or at 813-371-3413.
